Simmer IRON 2012
The new IRON has the power and control to be aggressive in any type of conditions.
With a lighter top and a narrower top outline, we have gained maneuverability and made it lighter in your hands.
IRON’s low aspect ratio makes it our most stable wavesail, with a massive wind range and great control for high wind jumping. Full power, full control!
KEY FEATURES
- Low end power, high end control. - Wide range of ‘tune-ability’ and the ability to thrive in average -type environments. - Suitable for a wide range of riders, especially heavier riders, but also ideal for those smaller riders who are looking for a smaller sail with extra power. - The compact design translates into an extremely stable sail to handle in the air, making the IRON the most suitable sail for high-wind jumping. - IRON has a constant power delivery with a stable sail profile and an extensive wind range. - Absolute highest technology in materials, manufacture and construction. Crystal clear visibility. - Reduced mast curve which effectively releases energy trapped in the mast and makes the sail more alive. - A wider window of tun-ability on the outhaul, provided by a new batten set up. - A more compact sail outline. - New stiffer construction on batten #4 for maximum profile stability. - Reduced batten diameter, from 8.5 mm to 7.0 mm on the top batten - Reduced swing weight through the employment of Q-PLY in the top third of the sail body.
CONSTRUCTION
-Low Aspect Ratio, longer boom, shorter mast. Low-end power gives a more constant feeling, stability and control. - Horizontal and vertical shape combined for optimal sail profile. - Dacron luff panel for smooth power delivery. - Kevlar Stretch Control tendons, increases the sails wind range, durability and allow for more controlled power transition. - Symmetric batten pockets, creates a perfect aerodynamic symmetry on both tacks of the sails as well as reducing the weight and increasing the strength.
